TheLast night marked a fitting and celebratory conclusion to another fantastic year at Dunchurch Photographic Society, as members gathered for our much-anticipated Awards Night.

This special evening is always a highlight in the club calendar, and this year was no exception. The culmination of months of creativity, competition, and camaraderie, the event brought together members to recognise the outstanding achievements across the season’s competitions.

David Bray at the helm

A particular highlight of the evening was the series of beautifully crafted AV sequences, thoughtfully curated by David Bray. As has now become a cherished tradition, these presentations brought the entire club year to life, showcasing a stunning collection of winning images from each competition. It was a real pleasure to revisit these photographs, appreciating once again the skill, vision, and diversity of work produced by our members.

For some images, the evening provided an added bonus—they were being displayed for the very first time on our new projection screen. The results were striking, with the improved clarity and vibrancy doing full justice to the photographers’ efforts. Seeing the images in this format added a fresh dimension and was a reminder of just how powerful photography can be when presented at its best.

The evening was expertly compered by Mark Ellis, who guided us through the proceedings with warmth and good humour. Mark also assisted the Society’s President, Adrian Canale-Parola in presenting the awards as well as organising truly sumptuous buffet, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The spread provided the perfect opportunity for members to relax, socialise, and reflect on the year gone by.

As the awards were announced and applause filled the room, there was a strong sense of community and shared achievement. The evening was not just about celebrating winners, but about recognising the collective passion for photography that defines our society.Chloe

A special award was presented to Chloe Strickland who had one of her images accepted into the Rugby Charity Calendar, which raises money for local charities.

A big thank you goes to everyone who contributed to making the night such a success—from those behind the scenes to all members who participated throughout the year. We now look ahead with excitement to another year of inspiration, learning, and, of course, great photography.

Congratulations to all our award winners, and we look forward to seeing what the next season brings!
