This week at Dunchurch Photographic Society, members took part in one of the most creative and thought-provoking competitions in our calendar – the Panel of Images, and the final competition of the year.

The challenge was simple in concept but demanding in execution: each participant was invited to submit three digital images on a theme of their choosing. The key requirement? The images had to be connected, forming a cohesive and meaningful panel rather than standing alone. This encouraged members not only to showcase individual photographs, but also to think carefully about storytelling, visual flow, and thematic consistency.

Eighteen members rose to the challenge, and the variety of work on display made for a truly engaging evening. The panels transported us from striking views of London to light-hearted and humorous takes on the perils of photography, alongside stunning wildlife captures that highlighted both patience and technical skill. The breadth of imagination and interpretation was a real testament to the creativity within the club.

As always, judging proved no easy task. With such a high standard across the board, selecting a winner required careful consideration of both individual image quality and how effectively each panel worked as a unified set. Our judge certainly had her work cut out.
Congratulations go to all who took part in what was a highly competitive and enjoyable event. A special mention, however, goes to Karen Tillett for her well-deserved win. Her panel stood out for its strong visual connection, creativity, and overall impact.
A fitting finale to the year’s competitions, the evening highlighted the talent and enthusiasm that make our society such a vibrant community. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting season ahead!
