Last night marked an exciting and memorable conclusion to the season for Dunchurch Photographic Society, as we travelled for our final battle and competition of the year against Coventry Photographic Society and The Grange Photographic Society.
The format for the evening saw each club submit 10 prints and 10 projected digital images (PDIs), setting the stage for a closely contested and high-quality competition. As the print scores were announced, Dunchurch found ourselves in a strong but challenging position—sitting in second place, just four points behind the leaders. With everything still to play for, the outcome would be decided in the PDI round.
What followed was a superb display of photography from all three clubs. The standard was consistently high, and the judge did an excellent job throughout the evening, offering thoughtful, constructive, and engaging critiques for every image. It made for an enjoyable and insightful experience for everyone present.
As the final PDI scores were revealed, the tension in the room was palpable—and for good reason. In a dramatic turnaround, Dunchurch edged ahead to secure victory by the narrowest of margins. The final scores were incredibly close: Dunchurch finished on 345 points, The Grange on 343, and Coventry on 340.
It was a truly hard-fought contest and a fantastic way to round off the season. Congratulations to all our members whose work contributed to this result, and well done to both Coventry and The Grange for such strong competition.
A brilliant evening, a superb result, and a perfect end to the season.
