A Day Out with Dunchurch Photographic Society
On 30th August, four members of Dunchurch Photographic Society – Andrew, Michael, Graham and Steven – enjoyed an inspiring day out packed with new sights, sounds, and photographic opportunities.
Behind the Scenes at Husband’s Bosworth Gliding Club
The morning began at Husband’s Bosworth Gliding Club, where members had the rare chance to go behind the air side and see how the club operates. From the intricate logistics of launching gliders to the teamwork required on the ground, it was fascinating to understand more about a world that usually remains hidden from view. For photographers, the elegant lines of the gliders and the buzz of activity offered plenty of opportunities to capture unique images.
The Power of Armourgeddon Military Museum
In the afternoon, the group travelled to Armourgeddon Military Museum, where the contrast could not have been more striking. After the calm skies of the glider club, they were immersed in the roar of vintage tanks and the rich history housed in the museum’s collection. Standing among these impressive machines and hearing their engines start up was a memorable experience – both visually and sonically thrilling.
A Successful Outing
By the end of the day, everyone agreed it had been a rewarding trip. Not only did the group come away with a greater appreciation for aviation and military history, but they also had the chance to capture a diverse range of images – from soaring gliders to rumbling tanks.
Days like these show just how valuable and enjoyable outings with the Dunchurch Photographic Society can be: a blend of learning, camaraderie, and the joy of photography.
We would like to extend our thanks to Husbands Bosworth Gliding Club and Armourgeddon Military Museum
