Report

There was a very healthy number of members and new faces present for the opening night which was hosted by Chairman Dougie.

The major activity was the Day Tripper competition for photographs taken on the Club's day trip to Bristol. There were 24 print and 25 DPI entries. This is the only competition we hold in which both prints and DPIs are judged in the same competition. The judging was undertaken by those present voting for their one favourite image. There were 32 votes returned, 29 of which were valid. It is interesting to note that nearly twice as many votes were cast for DPI entries (19) than for Prints (10).

The clear winner with 5 votes was 'Princes Wharf Cranes' by Phil Lindley

and the second placed with 3 votes was 'St Marys' also by Phil, well done Phil.

Both these were DPIs. There was a 4-way tie, on 2 votes, for 3 DPIs and 1 Print.

We were pleased to see 3 AVs by Dougie, Judy and Bob, I wonder if we had all been to the same place.

Thanks also to Keith Jones and Judy Longthorn for demonstrating mount cutting.
