Judy, Gerry and Bob attended the Championships on 5th April. The Club met with mixed results in our first entry into this competition…
The purpose of the competition was to find two Midlands Clubs to represent the MCPF in the national finals of the inter-club competition of the PAGB. The finals for the projected image competition (which will be in the form of slides) is to be held at Warwick University Arts Centre on 12th July 2008 commencing at 10.30am. Tickets are £7.50 each. "Two clubs from each of the 15 Federations, together with the top 5 placed clubs from the 2007 championships will compete to find the Champion Club for 2008".
The overall winners in the Midlands were Arden PG, 2nd Smethwick PS and 3rd Wrekin Arts (projected) & Stafford PS (Prints).
There were 3 judges, each awarding 2 to 5 marks for each image. There were perhaps five 15 point images and a similar number of 14 pointers and a couple of 8 pointers and loads of 9 pointers, so as you will see we were in good company and didn't disgrace ourselves.
We didn't proceed to the 2nd round & our individual results were :-
